Hailey’s Story
Hailey was a dynamic, outgoing thirteen year-old who loved life with Jesus in her heart. She was the daughter of Jeff and Lisa Rath and sister to Schuyler. In December of 2005 an automobile accident ushered Hailey into heaven. It was the love of Jesus that helped Jeff and Lisa make a very tough decision. Hailey’s family found the love and strength to have her organs recovered in order to save the lives of others in need. Today, Hailey’s gift of life has touched 73 people. Her beautiful heart is beating in a young lady in Michigan!
The Hailey Rath Memorial Event Committee is committed to honoring Hailey’s memory by hosting an annual 5K run/walk and music event.
The money raised will be donated to these worthy organizations:
- The University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics Organ Procurement Organization (www.uwhcopo.org) – "Their compassion brought a sense of peace to us. We felt very strongly about helping others and knew that is what Hailey would have wanted too. Hailey had a loving heart and her legacy lives on." – Lisa Rath, Hailey’s mother
- Beloit Area ELCA Lutheran Youth – Hailey thoroughly enjoyed participating in her youth group at Luther Valley Church in Orfordville. In honor of Hailey’s enthusiastic spirit and vision of hope we are supporting youths from these local ELCA affiliations: Faith Lutheran Church, Luther Valley Church, Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Saint Paul Lutheran Church, and Spirit of Hope Lutheran Church.
- Lutherdale Bible Camp (www.lutherdale.org) – a favorite place for Hailey to go and experience God’s love.
What an awesome community we live in! Thank You!
